Violinist, Teacher, Coach

My name is Adam Syed, and I am a professional performing violinist and teacher in the greater Puget Sound region. Originally hailing from Ohio, I have extensive experience with orchestral performance with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the West Virginia Symphony, Symphony Tacoma, Yakima Symphony, Lake Washington Symphony among other ensembles. As a teacher, I've taught privately since 2008 in the Midwest and the Seattle area, both privately, primarily using the Suzuki Method, and in public school group programs that use the Essential Elements method. I have also worked as a coach for Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra. I accept all ages and skill levels; however, I am interested in teaching serious students who are willing to make a commitment. With perseverance, amazing things can happen! I teach from my condo in beautiful downtown Des Moines, on the marina. I request that students pay tuition on a monthly basis. On a case-by-case basis, I also do individual coachings for audition preparation.

After commencing my undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, I have a Bachelors degree in Violin Performance from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, and a Masters degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music.

Home: About Me

"Adam is an incredibly accomplished musician. In his lessons, when he gives a demonstration, we felt in awe of his musical abilities. He is able to hone in on subtle positional  shifts that can shift the overall complexity of the students’ playing. His passion for the the music of the violin is apparent in every session. He is always cued into the students’ playing and prepared for all lessons. He even provided supplemental material between sessions."
